- Hi!
- I have a ThinkPad 701CS. I read that the US models have a built-in modem,
- but the European models do not. In the root directory of drive C:, there is a log file
- telling that the modem on port com1 has been flash-reprogrammed (i.e.
- completely disabled - there is no sign of any built-in modem support in the
- Setup utility or elsewhere).
- Contents of file C:\IBMLDR.LOG:
- Reflashing modem on COM1:
- DO NOT stop this program until the Reflash is completed.
- Exiting program.
-
- I would like to know if the modem hardware is still built into my ThinkPad
- (there place where the phone jack would be inserted is closed and can not
- be opened without opening the computer) and if it is maybe possible to
- reactivate the modem.
-
- Thanx in advance for any hint!
- Please answer via e-mail.
